Bring the Drama!

We present a varied evening of entertainment.
This is your chance to see the one-act play ‘Life in the Cloud’ by Tony Domaille with which the Allerton Players won three awards at the 2026 Saltburn Drama Festival.
The play, which is a bittersweet comedy, is about Ian, a workaholic, who is obsessed with his scientific work, until his sudden death. But before he died, he had discovered how to upload his consciousness to The Cloud. Now he’s trying to continue to live from the ether, whilst his wife, Mary, desperately tries to get on with her life and a new relationship.
In addition, we will present a number of short original dramatic monologues written and performed by their members, showcasing a range of different characters, all with something to say!

Marrows and Murder by Deborah Hugill
Sunday 13 September 2026, The Forum, Northallerton
Northallerton Rotary Club and the Allerton Players present Marrows and Murder – an interactive murder mystery by Deborah Hugill.
It is summer in Thirldale in the Yorkshire Dales, and the annual village show is in full swing. Everyone’s enjoying themselves until tragedy strikes when the judge of the fruit and vegetable competitions is brutally murdered, just after the winner of the Best Vegetable Marrow is announced.
Listen to the suspects present their statements, then try to work out whodunnit and why while you enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.
